The Hound-a-thon is ON!
It just doesn't get any easier than this to be an UBER hound hero. To be able to look back and say that you made the biggest possible difference in helping CGA get through the challenges we are currently facing, and making CGA stronger than ever in the future.

OK...So we all have seen the commercials where we see pictures of children who need to be fed good food, with a famous spokesperson telling us how we can help......Now, imagine Evie Petunia showing us the sweet faces of hound after hound who are waiting for their forever homes, the relinquished hounds looking for a second chance at a forever home, they just need your help.

Think of staying up all night watching Jerry Lewis make us laugh, and all the while letting us know that even a little bit can add up to being a lot when we work together. OK, now imagine our own lovely Ms. Coffee running the show, as the lovely Ms. Artemis demonstrates her stalking skills on unsuspecting stuffies...

AND you have HOUNDATHON!!!!

We aren't going to do this for one night, one weekend, there is no deadline for getting in on this. A couple months ago CGA did itself proud rising to the occasion to get through a crisis. The money raised went right to where it needed to be, to get some dogs back on their feet, literally. We've been inundated by relinquishments who have needed extensive care to get them as healthy as we can, and it has impacted our finances significantly. As an organization we want to be able to make things happen for them, but it's taking more money than ever to do it. These kinds of needs are not going away any time soon. The challenge we now face is of greater scope than a "right now" emergency, and we have to work to get through the coming months, AND to help ensure the health of the organization going forward to be able to weather future storms.

WHAT is HOUNDATHON???

We are now set up through the CGA store site, www.cgashop.com , to take pledge donations. I know my family isn't going to be able to come up with a big impressive number all at once to donate. BUT, I know I can find a way to give a little bit every month. The math is simple, and impressive. If 100 people/families give $20 a month, that is $2000 that will help CGA. Month after month, that number is enough to make a dramatic difference in CGA's ability to bring in deserving greyhounds and get them a great start into their new lives. There's no set amounts to donate. Say, $10 a month, if 50 people do that, is another $500 every month for CGA. With the number of people that are part of our organization, we have the potential to do raise much, much more...and the more we raise, the more we know will be coming in over future months, the ability to bring in and care for more greyhounds makes it possible to help many, many more hounds who need us.

So, how can I get my HOUNDATHON on?

Go to www.CGAshop.com and head to the donations section. You can set up to donate a set amount every month to CGA, and you only have to act once to get it started. There are no set limits, simply decide what amount you are comfortable with donating monthly After you sign up and give your initial donation, you don't have to remember to do anything. Your set amount will be automatically charged to your card every month, and you will see that on your card statements. Your personal and credit card information is secure. Every donation is tax deductible-and imagine how easy that makes accounting for your donations this time next year!!!

We will be signing people up at bowling at the CGA store booth....but it's even easier to just go online and set it up through the store. If you have any questions, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and she will answer them for you.

Here is your chance, my chance, every single one of our chance to be the biggest hound hero ever....doing it the way we've always done it when we are at our best, shoulder to shoulder acting together to make amazing things happen.

We plan to update as we go through the GNOTW and newsletter how much we are raising through Houndathon pledges. If you wish to remain anonymous in your pledge, all you need to do is let us know in the notes/comments section of the order page. Otherwise, we will be thanking you publicly, without noting the amount, for your pledge to help the hounds.

I know this group is about to do something amazing!!!!!
