News: Extreme Bowling for Greyhounds
BOWLING GOES TO THE DOGS!
COLORADO GREYHOUND ADOPTION'S FIFTH ANNUAL EXTREME BOWLING FUNDRAISER PROMISES GOOD TIMES AND GREAT PRIZES

What do you get when you mix greyhounds and a big bowling alley? Awesome prizes and fun for the whole family!

On Sunday, March 30, Colorado Greyhound Adoption (CGA) will hold its sixth annual Extreme Bowling for Greyhounds event at AMF Belleview Lanes, 4900 S. Federal Blvd. in Englewood. This annual fundraiser is CGA's single biggest event of the year, and the 2008 event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Lynn Carey from Channel 4 will be there, and FM radio personality Archer (formerly of 99.5 The Mountain) will emcee the event. Of course, the hounds will be there too, soaking up the attention and giving you the opportunity to see what loving pets they are. In addition, CGA will be giving away great prizes for adults and kids, and will also hold a silent auction.

"This event has become so important to CGA", says Kathie Buckley, an active CGA volunteer. "It's an exciting, fun event for people of all ages and skill levels. Even first-time bowlers have the opportunity to win great prizes. Our members enjoy getting together, and every year we see more and more people who are there meeting greyhounds for the first time. It's a great opportunity not only to meet greyhounds available for adoption, but also to visit with those already part of families. The best part is that while we're having so much fun, we’re also raising money that will help dogs move out of the kennels and onto their own couches."

The Extreme Bowling event costs $20 for adults and $13 for kids 12 and under, and includes lunch as well as three rounds of bowling and shoes. To sign up, visit the CGA Web site at http://www.greyhoundadoption.com. For more information, contact Kathie Buckley at (303) 932-7987. Registration on the day of the event starts at 11:15 a.m., and bowling begins at noon.

All proceeds from the Extreme Bowling for Greyhounds go directly to helping newly-retired racing greyhounds find their forever homes. CGA’s single largest expense is veterinary care – which is critical for ensuring the health of the greyhounds and getting them ready for home placement – and every donation helps the organization cover these services.

CGA is an all-volunteer, 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds into permanent loving homes. With a focus on fun and meeting the hounds, the Extreme Bowling for Greyhounds event draws more people every year. Just as important, the event is also a great opportunity for CGA volunteers to meet new people and give them a chance to learn about life with greyhounds.
