Weekly Adoption and Fostering Update ADOPTIONS AND FOSTERING We have four lucky hounds with new homes this week! Congratulations to Jordyn, Ette, Babs, and Mona. It is a blessing that we have so many wonderful foster families, adoption coordinators and families welcoming these sweet greys into their homes. Speaking of adoptions, The procurement team cat tested 25 dogs last Sunday. 13 are female, 12 are male, and of the 25 dogs tested, 17 are cat friendly. Nine of the hounds are 7 years old or older. They are the most adorable, healthy looking, loving senior hounds, who are ready for their retirement!! On the fostering front, we currently have 20 hounds in foster care. We are always in need of other loving foster families! The first step to bringing in retired racers from the kennels is having an available foster family to teach them the important lessons about enjoying life in a home and becoming cherished members of a family! If you know anyone who would enjoy fostering greyhounds, please have them contact Beth Morgan, CGA's foster set-up coordinator, or you may access plenty of greyt information about fostering from the CGA website. With so many greys waiting to begin their lives as pad potatoes and learn important life lessons, we can use every volunteer's help in recruiting their friends, family, co-workers, etc. to become foster families. |
